Capito Statement on Nomination of Michael Baylous to Serve as U.S. Marshal for Southern District of West Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) welcomed President Donald Trump’s nomination of West Virginia State Police Lieutenant Michael Baylous to serve as U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of West Virginia. Senator Capito recommended Baylous to President Trump earlier this year. Today, she issued the following statement regarding the president’s announcement:

“Lieutenant Baylous is an excellent choice to serve as U.S. Marshal in West Virginia’s Southern District. He has a long record of serving and protecting the people of West Virginia and a strong commitment to maintaining rule of law and public safety in our state. I am hopeful that he will be swiftly confirmed for this much-deserved position.”
