WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) tonight released the following statement regarding President Trump’s first address to a Joint Session of Congress:

“I was encouraged to hear support for several West Virginia priorities in President Trump’s address tonight, including job growth, regulatory reform, infrastructure development and combatting the drug epidemic. West Virginians made their voices heard when they overwhelmingly elected President Trump in November. Tonight’s speech, and the actions already taken to protect energy jobs, make it clear that the president is listening to the needs of our state. I will continue working with President Trump, and with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver the changes West Virginians want to see.”
