WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued the following statement regarding the administration’s FY2019 budget proposal:

“The president’s budget proposal is always a good reminder of the administration’s priorities as Congress works to determine how we will allocate specific funds. It was encouraging to see the administration propose funding for important priorities that I continue to advocate for—including resources to fight the opioid epidemic, keep our country safe and secure our border, and invest in America’s infrastructure. As a leader on the Appropriations Committee, I will continue working to ensure these efforts and others important to West Virginians remain priorities as we develop an omnibus appropriations bill based on the recent bipartisan, bicameral budget agreement.”
