Capito Statement on President’s Strategy in Afghanistan and South Asia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) released the following statement regarding President Trump’s strategy in Afghanistan and South Asia:
 
“Last night, the president laid out the path forward with Afghanistan and Pakistan. Having visited Afghanistan in the past and having just returned from the Middle East, I understand the threats that these regions pose to our national security and recognize that it is in our interest to work together to combat terrorism and stabilize Afghanistan. I support the direction the president laid out last night and remain forever grateful for the tremendous sacrifices made by the brave servicemen and women serving our nation.”
