WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R.-W.Va.) released the following statement about the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act, which passed the Senate on a 98-1 vote today:

“When I visited the Middle East in March, I heard grave concerns about the threat a nuclear-armed Iran poses to the United States and our allies. Today’s passage of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act gives the American people, through their elected representative, an opportunity to approve or disapprove any nuclear deal that is negotiated with Iran. With this bipartisan compromise, which I was proud to support, Congress can hold the administration accountable and push for an enforceable and verifiable agreement that blocks Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon.”
