WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) applauded the Senate’s passage of comprehensive, pro-growth tax reform legislation. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act takes a broad step forward to bring tax relief to West Virginia families, workers and businesses.
“Today we had an opportunity to vote for the kind of pro-growth reform that will provide relief to so many and make a real difference in the lives of working families across the country. These reforms will allow middle-income individuals to keep more of the money they’ve worked so hard for. They will help our small businesses grow and enable them to create more jobs and increase wages for their employees. And they will give our economy the boost it so desperately needs. I can’t fathom why anyone would not vote in support of the kind of relief and the kind of help this tax bill provides,” said Senator Capito.
“I was proud to cast my vote for this legislation—a bill that I truly believe will help improve the lives of so many West Virginians and Americans. This was a big moment in our efforts to deliver the tax reform solutions Americans need, and I will continue working to make sure West Virginians come out ahead as we work with the House on a final agreement.”
