WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement after speaking with President Trump during today’s Senate Republican policy lunch.
“Today’s lunch was an opportunity to discuss shared priorities and how to move forward with important efforts like tax reform that will lead to more jobs and higher wages for middle-class Americans. I also had the chance to speak one-on-one with the president about a number of issues that are important to West Virginians, including ways to continue growing our economy and attracting critical investment in our state. I am particularly excited about the administration’s forthcoming infrastructure plan and what that proposal could do for improving broadband access in rural America, and I will continue working to make sure West Virginia’s interests are reflected in the proposal. I also appreciate his comments about the important role West Virginia plays in powering the country and the world, and I look forward to partnering with the administration on all of the energy and economic priorities President Trump and I discussed today.”
