WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) voted in favor of a bipartisan resolution affirming the United States’ support for Israel in the wake of deadly terrorist attacks by the Iran-backed terrorist group, Hamas, that took the lives of over 1,000 Israelis, including innocent women and children, on October 7th. The resolution was led by U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“The appalling terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas, fueled by its sponsors in Iran, were evil and barbaric. I was proud to join my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to signal that the United States remains steadfast in our support of our ally, Israel, its people, and its right to defend itself in the wake of these unconscionable attacks,” Senator Capito said. “Our resolve is strong and we will continue to have Israel’s back with resources and assistance going forward as they respond to these despicable acts of terrorism.”
