WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a video message, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) welcomed the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to Charleston, West Virginia, as part of its BroadbandUSA Tour today. As part of her effort to improve broadband, Senator Capito has engaged federal partners like NTIA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Appalachian Regional Commission and the U.S. Economic Development Administration to raise awareness about federal funding opportunities for broadband. More than 60 West Virginians attended today's workshop and learned about how to plan, structure, and fund broadband projects in their community.
