WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued the below statement following the release of a new report by the Trump administration’s Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity. The report outlines various recommendations from federal and local leaders to help improve life in rural America.

“West Virginia is a predominately rural state, and too often our rural communities have needs that simply aren’t being met. I’m so happy the Trump administration is drawing attention to the needs of rural communities and working to find solutions that can improve the lives of those who call these communities home.

“I was particularly glad to see such a focus on improving connectivity and expanding access to rural broadband. Through my Capito Connect plan, I’ve been working to provide all West Virginians access to affordable, high-speed internet, and I will continue working with the administration to close the digital divide in our state and help our rural communities grow and thrive.”
