WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today welcomed the release of a draft Department of Health and Human Services toxicology report on PFAS chemicals. Following news reports that the study’s publication had been blocked, Senator Capito repeatedly urged the administration to make the report public. She issued the following statement regarding today’s release:
“After repeatedly pushing the administration to make these findings public, I’m very glad to see it release this study today. The information contained in the report will help determine potential threats our communities face as a result of certain water contamination issues, and that’s critical to ensuring the health of West Virginians. I will carefully review these findings and will continue to push for transparency when it comes to the health and safety of those living in our state and in states across the country.”
