WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued the following statement regarding the Fourth of July:
“Today, as we celebrate the birth of our great nation with parades, fireworks and family, we must also pause to thank the veterans who have dutifully served our nation, and the men and women in uniform who are currently on active duty around the world. Our service members and their families have sacrificed so much so that we may enjoy the cherished freedoms at the core of our country’s foundation. West Virginia’s patriotic spirit, and our dedication to helping friends and neighbors makes me proud to represent our beloved state in the United States Senate. Each day I am working to ensure that every West Virginian has the opportunity to live their version of the American dream in the greatest nation in the world. I wish all West Virginians a happy and safe Fourth of July.”
