WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), chair of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, today was briefed by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) on their efforts in conjunction with the Department of Defense (DoD) to monitor the security of the airspace of the national capital region.
“Today’s briefing was another reminder of how lucky we are to have the Coast Guard working on so many fronts for the safety and security and the American people,” Senator Capito said. “These men and women are vigilant in their watch over Washington and are fully prepared for anything that comes their way. I’m grateful for all the individuals who keep our nation’s capital safe, and I will continue working to provide them the support they need through my subcommittee.”
