CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) attended the West Virginia National Guard’s (WVNG) 2nd annual Military Spouse Appreciation Day luncheon, in Charleston, W.Va. where she delivered remarks and visited with WVNG members and their families. The purpose of this event is to honor and recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses in support of their service member within the WVNG.
“While one person in the family might wear the uniform, we know that every member of the family serves,” Senator Capito said. “Our country and our state are eternally grateful for the spouses and families of the WVNG who consistently display resilience, strength, and dedication. West Virginia is privileged to have such a professional National Guard – with dedicated families – that are effective in both state and national missions. I was honored to share my support for them today."
