WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) showcased several West Virginia foods and products during the Senate’s Thursday Lunch Group, a Republican tradition dating back to the 1970s.
“Whether it’s a pepperoni roll from a local bakery or a delicious Italian meal at a family-owned restaurant, there is a lot to love about West Virginia cuisine,” said Senator Capito. “I never miss the chance to bring a little piece of home with me to Washington and was delighted to share some of the excellent foods and products made in the Mountain State with my colleagues today.”
Today’s lunch was catered by Figaretti’s Restaurant in Wheeling and featured peaches from The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs for dessert.
Attendees received gift bags filled with the following West Virginia products:
No taxpayer funds were used to purchase the lunch or West Virginia products.
