ELKINS, W.Va. — Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Appropriations and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees, joined state and local officials in Elkins, W.Va. to break ground on Micrologic’s broadband expansion project. This project, which is being spearheaded by the Randolph County Development Authority, in partnership with Micrologic, aims to deliver expanded internet service to nearly 4,000 unserved residents across Randolph County.
“Connecting West Virginia with reliable internet access has been a central priority throughout my time in Congress because of the potential impact it unlocks for our state. That potential is evident in Randolph County, which is not only one of the most beautiful parts of our state, but one that has seen an influx of recent development. Projects like this capitalize on recent investments, and will serve to increase opportunities for our residents, students, and business owners. I’m thankful for the dedication of Micrologic and the Randolph County Development Authority in making this project possible, and will continue to work in collaboration with local leaders to close the digital divide on our state,” Senator Capito said.
“The Randolph Development Authority appreciates Senator Capito joining us for today’s groundbreaking ceremony to vitally important broadband internet. She has been a champion for connectivity since joining the U.S. Senate and our state has made major progress thanks to her hard work,” Robbie Morris, Executive Director of the Randolph County Development Authority, said.
