WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.)—a member of the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee—today participated in an oversight hearing examining efforts to fight the opioid epidemic. During the hearing, Senator Capito questioned government officials responsible for various federal drug programs and highlighted legislation she introduced last month to prioritize funding for states hardest hit by the drug crisis.
“You can look for us to be very aggressive,” Senator Capito said. “If we don’t stop this epidemic in West Virginia and New Hampshire then the numbers are going to go up proportionally in all of these states.”
