WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today delivered the second in a series of Senate floor speeches on the benefits of comprehensive pro-growth tax reform, highlighting specifically how reform will benefit small businesses in West Virginia.
“Ninety-five percent of businesses in the United States are small businesses, and that number is even higher in my state of West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “Let’s create an environment that leads to more investment in our states and continues to grow and build jobs. These are the changes hard-working West Virginians and Americans are hungry for. In order to make West Virginia the best place to live and work—now is the time for tax reform.”
Despite misleading and erroneous claims that tax reform efforts will benefit the wealthy more than the middle class, a framework released last week will help drive economic growth, put more money in the pockets of working families and empower small businesses to grow and expand. Next week, Senator Capito will convene a small business roundtable in Charleston to discuss how tax reform will benefit West Virginia workers and job creators.
