Our veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the many freedoms we cherish today.
As the daughter of a World War II veteran, a day does not pass where I do not think about the sacrifices made by the men and women who have so honorably served our nation.
I frequently visit the National Mall during my morning runs where I often stop at memorials like the World War II Memorial.
It’s an important reminder of the sacrifices made by the millions of men and women who have served.
And, it’s also a reminder of what makes our country so great – That millions of Americans from all corners of the United States love our nation and what we stand for so much that they are willing to risk it all.
These men and women are real heroes.
And, it’s because of their dedication, pride, and sacrifice, that we are able to enjoy the freedoms we do today.
On Memorial Day and every day, let’s remember and appreciate these fallen heroes and their loved ones.
I hope all West Virginians will join me in thanking our brave servicemen and women for all they have done for this great nation.
