We all know the story.
243 years ago, 13 British colonies declared themselves free and independent.
243 years ago, the world saw the birth of a nation founded on one idea:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Now a lot has changed in 243 years:
We’ve grown from 13 colonies to 50 states.
We’ve gone to war — with each other and with the world.
We’ve cured disease, built computers, and landed on the moon.
But in those 243 years, our steadfastness to those tenants has not changed, and they remain the principles and ideals that make this the greatest nation in the world.
Life — Liberty — and the pursuit of happiness.
Today, I hope you’re enjoying happiness and health in your life.
I hope you are grateful and humbled to live in the land of liberty, and I hope you are pursing happiness surrounded by your loved ones.
