WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today
joined her colleagues Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Deb Fischer
(R-Neb.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Kelly Loeffler
(R-Ga.), and Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) for a press conference to discuss Judge
Amy Coney Barrett as a jurist and role model, as well as the Left’s double
standard when it comes to covering women in public service.
“What I would implore our
Senate colleagues—and really the rest of the nation—is to be rejoicing in the
fact that we have an accomplished woman to consider, that we have a role model
for our girls, our daughters and our granddaughters. And because she has
traveled a journey that not many of us get to do, we should use that as an
opportunity to inspire that next generation,” Senator Capito said during the press conference.
