WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today delivered remarks on the Senate floor where she highlighted West Virginians from across the state who have gone above and beyond to help their communities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Just a few stories can give us hope. Stories that help shed some positivity on what’s a very difficult time, stressful, and lonely. I’ve said on this floor many times: I am an optimist. And, I know we will get through this, because our country is strong, our states are strong, and my West Virginians are strong. We’ve heard some very inspiring stories this afternoon, and they are examples of kindness happening all across this country. This is the kind of kindness that we need today. We need it every day, but we really need it todayThink about all these unsung heroes. Thank them, but also learn from them,” Senator Capito said during her speech.
Senator Capito launched a page on her website to help bring current and accurate information to West Virginians during the COVID-19 pandemic. Click HERE to access the webpage for the latest updates and resources.
If there is some you know in your community who has gone above and beyond during this time, Senator Capito is asking constituents to submit these stories on her website here.
