WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued a video statement regarding the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on Sunday.
Full video transcript included below:
This Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
The passage of time will never dull the memory of the innocent people, first responders and military personnel that were lost that day.
While the attacks were meant to break our nation at its core, we emerged stronger than ever.
The outpouring of love, support and solidarity from West Virginians, and all Americans, was a shining example of the resilience and patriotism that make our country so remarkable.
Every year on the anniversary of 9/11, we hold our loved ones close, cherish the freedoms we enjoy each day, and pray for the families of the nearly 3,000 men and women who were lost that day.
They will never be forgotten.
